12 Steps to unclutter your life……so you can live your life ON PURPOSE

Why unclutter your life?  Why not leave it just as it is?  Very simply, because Inspiration can’t come to you if your life is too cluttered, too chaotic, too noisy, too busy or if it has been programmed by others’ in accordance with their values and beliefs.  As you unclutter your life, it can become more authentic (a reflection of what you value and prioritize) and more available, more receptive to Spirit and Inspiration.

1.    Unclutter your material life: clothes, files, equipment, that you really don’t need and don’t use.  They take up space physically and energetically and you have to manage it.  You may not be aware of how much energy and time and money are being spent to manage it all.  If you have some awareness of what it’s costing you, imagine if you could reduce that by 25%.  What would that mean for you?  What could/would you do with that time, energy, and money?

2.    Unclutter your calendar and your time.
Practice saying “No” instead of what you’re used to saying when someone asks you to take on a project, a task, or yet another responsibility.  As you reduce your obligations, you can feel where your spirit is being drawn, you’ll be better able to hear that call, and you’ll have the space for whatever it is.  Allow time for contemplation, silence and meditation.  Schedule it.  Make this a priority.

3.    Keep your free time free and uncluttered.
Be very selective in accepting invitations and taking on activities.  Allow there to be space on your calendar and in your life.  Enjoy it.

4.      Take time for meditation and movement. This will bring you closer in touch with yourself and with Oneness and will create harmony within yourself and with the divine.  This will increase your receptiveness to Inspiration and make you better able to feel it.

5.      Spend some time in the simplicity of nature.
This is one of the greatest ways to connect with god.

6.      Put distance between you and your critics. Tell them: “What you think of me is none of my business.”

7.      Take time for your health: Rest, relax, renew.  Nourish your body: consume that which strengthens and enlivens you.  Treat your body like a sacred temple.

8.      PLAY!  Allow time for joy.
This is one way you nourish your spirit; it feeds on joy.

9.      SLOW DOWN. You probably won’t hear the call or feel inspiration if you’re rushed or jamming in a lot.  As you slow down, you’ll prioritize what’s actually important to you, what’s truly necessary, and what you value as opposed to what’s been a habit or a belief.  Don’t sweat the small stuff.  When you slow down and don’t sweat the small stuff, you can feel the sweetness in life, you can feel what’s arising in your soul, and which way you‘re moved to go.

10.      Remove debt from your life as much as possible.
Debt is a form of clutter, energetic clutter, and often is related to the material clutter we spoke of earlier.  The more you reduce these, the more freedom you have.  The space within that freedom is delicious.  It makes room for endless possibilities.  Who knows what Inspiration will come…….

11.  Don’t be overly focused on the monetary cost of things. Be financially prudent but not obsessive.

12.  Remember who you are.  Remember your spirit.  Remember that we are all a piece of god.

Good advice, Kamila! I think we tend to know these things but need constant reminding. I’d add another thought – make time to be creative.
